Topic: VICTORY THROUGH THE "BLOOD" OF JESUS.

There is no greater symbol of life than blood: blood keeps us alive.

In Old Testament times people sacrificed animals, which cleansed them from sin and made them ceremonially acceptable to God. But when Jesus, who offered himself unblemished to God, shed his blood on the cross, he obtained eternal redemption for us. Because his final, perfect sacrifice is infinitely more effective than animal sacrifices, no barrier of sin or weakness can stifle God's forgiveness.

For many, the cross is nothing more than -a piece of jewelry that is used to adorn the ear or the neck.
for some, the cross is an icon designed for worship; they kneel before the cross and pray to it.

Some see the cross as an amulet that contains supernatural power; they hang it over their bed or carry it around to ward off evil.

Q. What does the cross mean to you?

Our theme this year 2023 is; Celebrating God's Divine Victories. 

We will celebrate God's Divine Victories when we become both hearers to doerers of God's  word .
It is important to realize that James is addressing church-going people. He is not writing to pagans, but to those who regularly hear the word of God. Probably, they took some comfort in the fact that they often heard the word. 

That put them a notch above those pagans who never attend church! Being Jewish Christians, some probably took pride in their observance of certain rituals and outward commands. They had been baptized. They took communion. They attended church. They didn’t steal or murder or commit adultery. But James cuts through the veneer to the heart!



A generation that has a revelation of the power in God's word to save, deliver and heal live to fulfil its mandate because practising God's word.
1.  *Causes one to be a model for generation*.

James 1:21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

"1 - The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as the LORD commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink.

2 - So they quarreled with Moses and said, "Give us water to drink." Moses replied, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the LORD to the test?" 

3 - But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, "Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?" 

4 - Then Moses cried out to the LORD, "What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me." 

5 - The LORD answered Moses, "Walk on ahead of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. 

6 - I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink." So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. 

7 - And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the LORD saying, "Is the LORD among us or not?" 

8 - The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. 

9 - Moses said to Joshua, "Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands." 

10 - So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill

11 - As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. 

12 - When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up-one on one side, one on the other-so that his hands remained steady till sunset. 

13 - So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword. 

14 - Then the LORD said to Moses, "Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven." 

15 - Moses built an altar and called it The LORD is my Banner. 

16 - He said, "For hands were lifted up to the throne of the LORD. The LORD will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation.' "

Everybody has a destiny. So much so, that God himself has taken a personal interest in it. 
We need to entrust God with our destiny because

The Bible speaks 7 times against LGBTQ. Homosexuality  is viewed as sinful, unnatural and perverted. 

Gen. 19:1-11; Lev. 18:22; 20:13; Judge:19:22-25; Roman:1:25-26; 1 Cor.6:9: 1Tim. 1:9-10.

Leviticus 18:22 says that it is an abomination for a male to lie with another male as with a woman, and it is punishable by death.

"You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination,"

God is able to forgive, restore and help one live a straight life that is God honouring.

3 - The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group

5 - In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?"

6 - They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

"42 - When he was *twelve* *years* *old* , they went up to the Feast, according to the custom. 

43 - After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.

44 - Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. 

45 - When they *did* *not* *find* *him* , they *went* *back* to Jerusalem to look for him. 

46 - After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.

TOPIC: LEADERSHIP IN GOD’S PERSPECTIVE

We are all getting ready to elect our different category of leaders in one week’s time. 

I thought it important to share some nuggets of Leadership in God’s perspective.

The greatest need of our time is not more money, not new buildings, not bigger buildings, not new working methods, not more workers, not more learned men and women, not well structured manifestos, not good visions and missions, is not experience, but leadership.

While it is important that we vote and elect leaders, it’s also important to understand leadership in God’s perspective. 

God is in the business of raising, fashioning and ordaining leaders to bring about transformation in the lives of his people. 

Proposition
We need to embrace leadership in God’s perspective because: 
1.   God establishes and institutes leaders. Vs.1, 2
2.   Leaders Fashioned of God Shapes our lives to the right course Vs.3
3.   Leaders Ordained of God are Servant Leaders.Vs. 4.

Romans 13:4
“For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer” 

God is looking for Men and Women with the heart of a servant. 

Jesus was a servant leader. 

John 13: 4
“So he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him”

In the days that we are living servant leaders are scarce. 

As we prepare to vote, let’s prepare to vote in servant leaders. 

As I Conclude., What is our primary role to those in authority? 

1.   Submitting to them.  – Romans 13:1

2.   Praying for those in Authority.  1 Timothy 2:1- 5

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.
